Do people ever really think?

I have come to the conclusion that people think that my identity as a gay muslim man is as dispensable as their opinions of muslims in the world.

Not only is my identity not dispensable, they simply aren't in the same ballpark.

I am tired of talking about it with people that cant tell the difference.

Just very frustrated and had to say it somewhere.

That's what this is all about, venting!

I hope you feel better? I don't know any Muslims so I have no misconceptions about them.

PS You're cute. :D

I happen to think Muslims are a deeply spiritual people who are also victims of religious fanaticism. It's sad when the actual culture of a faith is solely defined by the acts of people who do more harm than good.

And I agree with Antares' last comment. (Yes, I saw the pics)

Of course your identity isn't dispensable, like everyone else's, its priceless. And also like everyone else's, it more valuable to some than others. An openly gay muslim's views on things aren't all over, and yours are very much appreciated.

Thanks

I think that there are more of us out there than we know of. Since i have been active in online communities, there have been quite a few that i have run across. I think RRRRRAfik was my first online muslim gay buddy, a pallestinian who lives in berlin. In time, as we deal with our own demons we will change things. the memory of our cultural identity and our place in our history will be restored.

I have to believe that anyway. until then i will keep on trying to keep on trying.

There are plenty of people out there identifying themselves as "gay Muslims" - and it's not always clear what such people mean by each term, let alone their conjunction. My blog discusses their writings and activities.

Asalamu alaikum

I do not know you, and I don't know that I agree with some of the things on your site, but I admire and respect your willingness to ask the hard questions.

I have posted your comment and if you would like me to put up a link to your blog let me know.
